An energy monitor attached to the system will not only allow you to monitor the amount of power produced by the panels it will give you control of how you use that power.
This control will allow you to judge the most effective time to use your high electrical usage equipment so that you maximise the payback and efficiency of your system.
The only downside of the monitor, we have found, is the fact that some people become addicted to checking how their system is performing and how much energy is generated by their panels.
This is treatable over time so there is no need to be too worried.
